Felucca Sail Trek Tour Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrive at Cairo airport. Meet and assist throughout Cairo International Airport formalities. Transfer to your hotel for overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast at there will be a visit to the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx & Valley Temple. There is an optional visit to the world famous Egyptian Museum. In the evening there will be a transfer to the Cairo train station for the overnight journey on the sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner is served on the train.
DAY 3
After breakfast on the sleeper train you arrive in Aswan where you will be met by our local agent and transferred to your hotel (bed & breakfast). The rest of the day is free for you to explore Aswan. You may like to take an optional tour of the Aswan Nubian Museum.
DAY 4
The day is at leisure. You could consider an optional tour to the massive temples at Abu Simbel.
DAY 5
After breakfast at the hotel you check out and transfer to your felucca for the 3 night cruise. During the cruise you will be on a full board basis. You sail around Kitcheners and Elephantine Islands. Dinner and overnight on board your felucca.
DAY 6
Today you visit the Aswan High Dam which forms the 500 km. long Lake Nasser and you visit the ancient granite quarry with its 1,000 ton Unfinished Obelisk. There will be a visit to the elegant island temple of Philae dedicated to the supreme maternal goddess Isis. Dinner and overnight on board your felucca.
DAY 7
After breakfast you visit Kom Ombo temple with its dual dedication to the crocodile god Sobek and a falcon-headed god Ra-Haroeris. After the visit the felucca continues to sail to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board your felucca.
DAY 8
Today you visit the huge Temple of Horus at Edfu - this is the most complete temple of the ancient world. After the visit you will be transferred to Luxor via road transport. There will be a visit to the incredible Karnak temple complex, the largest religious complex in the world, with its forest of pillars, sacred lake and carved reliefs. Overnight at your Luxor hotel (bed & breakfast).
DAY 9
After breakfast you visit the tombs of the pharaohs in the famous Valley of the Kings. There will be an opportunity for an optional visit to the tomb of Tutankhamun. You also visit the great temple of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri and the Colossi of Memnon. There will be an evening transfer to Luxor train station for the journey to Cairo on the seated train - dinner is included (you may wish to upgrade this journey to a sleeper train).
DAY 10
After breakfast on the sleeper train you arrive at Cairo train station where you will be met and transferred to your hotel (bed & breakfast). The day is free in Cairo. You will have access to your hotel until your late evening transfer to Cairo Airport for the return flight home.
